Loving are an inconspicuous three-piece from BC, Canada. Their music combines humble, modest playing with great songwriting and soft spirits. They seem to go about their releases with the same laid-back attitude...If I Am Only With My Thoughts is their second album since their 2016 debut. 'A Mirror For Two Voices' is a standout mid-album track that combines strange and drowsy sonics. Plucked acoustic guitar opens the song, streaming in like muted sunshine through linen. The psychedelic electric guitar glimmers and floats whilst the bass roots down with wooden solidity. Percussive cricket noises add a remote tropical feeling to the song. The lyrics are charming, exploring the otherworldly feelings of romance, mumbled with an endearing shyness. The end of the track goes off-kilter, into an eerie and dreamlike section made up of layered guitar. 'A Mirror For Two Voices' is a wonderful illustration of romantic fondness. -Ellie Rose-Davies
